The Embroidery and Coding workshop took place on November 2014 at the IED Campus in Madrid in the context of the Redefining Crafts for the 21st Century program. The aim of the event was to bring together a traditional artisan and a media artist in order to share their knowledge and techniques with the participants. During the three days of the workshop the attendees were introduced in traditional embroidery techniques applied by JT Bordadores, a high-end embroidery company based in Madrid and had the opportunity to explore the use of diy electronics and creative coding in order to enhance their embroideries with lights and sound. The results were presented at a public exhibition after the end of the working period.
