The Hand-Crafted Futures talk and workshop took place on December 2015 at Wissenschaft und Kunst (Universit├Ąt Salzburg & Mozarteum Salzburg) in Salzburg, Austria and was organised by Subnet. The aim of the workshop was to introduce the participants to the world of soft-circuits and wearables by experimenting with materials such as conductive threads and fabrics and basic electronic components (LEDs, buzzers, vibe motors, sensors, coils etc). The participants were encouraged to engage in discussion about the combination of smart materials and traditional crafting techniques and to explore the idea of creating speculative narratives through wearable prototypes.
